A class code is a chartfield in the Shared Financial System that can be used to further define an
account code. For example, the account 3100 refers to supplies. When
8048 is added as the class, the transaction is further defined as classroom

The class field is required for three types of transactions: |

A. |
Remodeling and
Maintenance Projects require a building number. |
|
|
B. |
Taxable receipts reported on a departmental deposit require a county tax
code. |
|
|
C. |
Marketing Expenses (Account 3740) require a marketing
class code. |
|
|
D. |
Computer and Related Peripherals accounts requires a
computer
class code. |

Any requests for additional classes should be made only by Unit Business
Representatives and should
be sent to the Controller's Office. |
