USBank Visa Travel Card

A.

For travel arrangements made by a state employee, use of an institutional liability purchasing card (PCard) for all reimbursable airline tickets is required.  Please contact your Unit Business Representative for the procedures specific to your School/College/Division.

If they so choose, employees have the option of utilizing the state-provided personal liability USBank Visa Travel Card (TCard) to purchase airline tickets, but reimbursement for these tickets may not be made until after the trip has been completed.

B.

For travel arrangements made by a state employee, use of the state-provided USBank Visa Travel Card (TCard) or an institutional liability purchasing card (PCard) for all reimbursable travel agency service fees, hotel room rates and car rental costs is required.  Please contact your Unit Business Representative for the procedures specific to your School/College/Division.

C.

All UW System employees in permanent, project or LTE status (this excludes graduate assistants, students, and other temporary workers) are eligible for the USBank Visa Travel Card with a maximum credit limit of $3500.

D.

Benefits to the cardholder include:

  • Non-invasive credit assessment (see documents in section F, part 1, below)

  • No interest fees

  • No annual fees

  • One payment option for travel related expenses

  • Travel and emergency assistance (click here for details)$500,000 common carrier insurance (conditions apply, click here for details)

  • $1,250 lost or stolen luggage insurance (conditions apply, click here for details)

  • Collision damage or theft insurance up to the full value of a rental car (conditions apply, click here for details).

E.

Benefits to the state include: 

  • Reduces need for travel advances

  • Facilitates verification of travel rule compliance

  • Enhances collection of travel related data which can then be used to negotiate more favorable rates from travel service providers

  • Streamlines reimbursement procedures by providing a single source of payment documentation.
F.

Employees who would like the US Bank Visa Travel Card should: 

  1. Read the following documents: U.S. Bank Letter 1, U.S. Bank Letter 2, and Public Record Notice.

  2. Fill out an application.

  3. Completed applications should be forwarded to the Travel Office by mail or fax (906-8446).

  4. New applications will take 7-10 business days to process.

  5. Within two weeks of receiving the Travel Card, complete the User Agreement and mail or fax it to the Travel Office
G. Online access for viewing transactions and statements is available through the US Bank AccessOnline website. In order to acces your account you must register.
  1. Go to the AccessOnline website at https://access.usbank.com
  2. Click on "Register Online".
  3. Enter stwisc for the "Organization Short Name".
  4. Enter the rest of the information from your account.
  5. If you wish to have access to any other cards, click on "Additional Account".
  6. When all accounts are entered, click on "Register This Account".
