Setting up a SPAM Filter in GroupWise


  1. Right Click your name at the top of the left pane of the GroupWise window.

  1. Click New Folder.

  2. Click the Next button on the Create Personal Folder window.

  3. Type in a name for your folder like SPAM.

  1. Click the Next button.

  2. Click the Finish button.

  3. Click Tools then on Rules in the GroupWise menu bar.

  4. Click the New button in the Rules Window.

  5. Type in a name for this in the New Rule window, like Move SPAM.

  6. Click on the Define Conditions... button.

  7. Select Subject in the left-most drop-down inn the Define Conditions window.

  8. Type [=SPAM=] in the text box just to the left of the button labeled End (including the square braces and equal signs).

  9. Click the button in between Subject and [=SPAM=] and select Begins With.

  1. Click the OK button on the Define Conditions window.

  2. Click the Add Action button on the New Rule window.

  3. Click Move Folder To...

  4. On the Move Item to Folder Action window, check the box in front of the SPAM folder you created earlier.

  1. Click the Move button.

  2. Click the Add Action button on the New Rule window.

  3. Click Stop Rule Processing.

  1. Click the Save button on the New Rule window.

  2. Single click on the Move SPAM rule and click the Move Up button as many times as needed to move that rule to the top of the rule list.

  1. Make sure the check box in front of the Move SPAM rule is checked and click the Close button.
