Changing your Cover Sheet

To change the cover sheet that RightFax uses follow these steps.

1. On the RightFax FaxUtil menu click Tools-Options

2. On the Sending Tab of the Options window, select the appropriate Cover Sheet File. (See list of available cover sheets below to determine which file to select.)

3. Click the Ok button on the Options Window.

User Settings that should be Checked

To insure that the information on the cover pages of your faxes is correct, you should check the following fields to make sure the information in them is correct.

Under Tools-Options in the RightFax FaxUtil menu check the following fields.  On the tab labeled Sending make sure that correct cover sheet file is selected.  Under the tab labeled user information make sure your name is correct, your fax number is your personal fax number ( You can look up your fax number in the online staff directory if you need to; 229-6977 has been disconnected), and your voice number is correct.  The other fields on that page are not used on our cover sheets and do not need to be filled out.

Currently available Cover Sheet Files

BFS.pcl - Generic all purpose cover sheet for BFS, use this one unless a specific cover sheet exists for your department.

BFS-PURCH.pcl - Cover sheet for the Purchasing.

BFS-INST.pcl - Cover sheet for Resource Analysis.

BFS-SYS.pcl - Cover sheet for Systems.

Note for Department Managers

If you'd like a custom cover sheet created for your area please send an email to the Systems Help Desk (help@bfs.uwm.edu).  In that email please  state what changes you'd like made for your area's cover sheet.

The Word Version of the Generic BFS cover sheet can be viewed by clicking here.  The information within the less-than and greater-than symbols is code for merge fields that pull information from the popup form that you fill out when you send a fax, the rightfax system itself, and the user information under Tools-Option in the FaxUtil software.

 <WHENFAXED> is populated with the date and time on the system when you send the fax.

<TONAME> is populated with the name you type in on the popup window when you send the fax.

<TOFAXNUM> is populated with the fax number you type in on the popup window when you send the fax.

<FROMNAME> is populated with the name you have in the user information tab of the Options window of FaxUtil.

<FAXDIDNUM> is populated with the fax number you have in the user information tab of the Options window of FaxUtil.

<FROMPHONENUM> is populated with the phone number you have in the user information tab of the Options window of FaxUtil.

<NOTETEXT> is populated with whatever you type in the cover sheet notes box of the popup window when you send a fax.

<NUMPAGESC> is populated with the total number of pages being sent (including the cover sheet).
