Financial Reporting is an integral part of the UW-System Shared Financial System (SFS). UWM's financial data can be accessed via WISDM - https://wisdm2.doit.wisc.edu/wisdm2/
WISDM (Wisconsin Data Mart) was developed to provide financial data through a web browser. The majority of campus departments can get all of the financial reports they need by using WISDM. These reports which come from General Ledger data include budget summary reports at the fund/organization or project/grant level. In addition, detail information regarding budgets, expenditures and encumbrances is available. Specific journal, voucher and purchase order data can also be reviewed. Journal Source Codes and Journal ID Prefixes can be very useful in identifying specific transactions. Most of the WISDM reports can be downloaded to Excel. A Web browser is necessary to access WISDM.
Please contact your Unit Business Representative (UBR) to obtain access to WISDM.
A PowerPoint presentation is available and can be used to help you navigate the WISDM menus.
Any questions relating to WISDM and not answered in the PowerPoint presentation can be directed to Erin Schmidt (6656) schmidte@uwm.edu.
Requesting GL Star Access
All GL Star authorization requests must be submitted by the campus Unit
Business Representative. Please send requests for GL Star access to the
Controller's office . The
requests should include the user's name, SFS ID (or DoIT login) and the
user's WISDM login. If a user does not have a WISDM login, the UBR may
request one by sending an email to
wisdm@bfs.uwm.edu. Individuals will need to request a FASTAR Brio
Account. Information on setting up a Brio Account can be found at
this link.
Information in the GL Star is updated nightly with SFS transactional data.
The GL Star will not include all the information available in SFS, but
will include all the information available through WISDM.
For help in understanding the information that is available in the GL
Star, a Data
Dictionary is available.
