Tuition and Fees - Fall 2009 Financial Obligation, Due Dates, and Minimum Payment Required
Financial Obligation When you register for classes or make changes to your registration using your online Panther Access to Web Services (PAWS) account, you are making a financial commitment to UWM. Failure to view your account does not negate your responsibility to pay by the due date. View PAWS to determine the correct amount due and due dates. You may immediately pay on PAWS with webCheck or credit card.
Due Dates All Fall 2009 tuition and fees are due August 24, 2009 regardless of the class start date. If you are living in one of the residence halls, your room and meal plan charges will each have two separate charges with two different due dates. One room and one meal plan charge will be due August 3rd. The remaining balance for each of these charges will have a due date of August 24th. All earlier amounts due plus Fall 2009 fees must be paid and credited to your student account no later than August 24, 2009 to avoid cancellation of registration. No paper bills will be sent to currently registered students. If you pay all financial obligations with a due date prior to August 24th plus at least $200.00 against your Fall 2009 fees by August 24, 2009, you will be placed on the Installment Payment Plan. (see Note below) You are required to complete a University Credit Agreement. Each installment charge will have a due date of when payment must be received (early October and early November). Any installment charge not paid by the due date will have a Bursar Hold placed on the account. This hold restricts initial enrollment, transcript release and other campus services. Past due installment charges are also subject to finance charges of 1% per month. See the Installment Payment Plan Section of the Fall 2009 Fee Facts for additional information. Note: Study Abroad and Executive MBA fees are not eligible to be paid on the Installment Payment Plan. Monthly Kenilworth rent charges will be added to your PAWS account monthly. These charges are not eligible to be paid on the Installment Payment Plan.
Minimum Payment Required Hold Students not registered for Fall 2009 before August 8, 2009, and do not have a processed qualified exemption of cancellation of Registration will have a Minimum Payment Required Hold placed on their account. This hold requires that all financial obligations with a due date prior to August 24th plus a minimum of $200.00 be paid to your student account before you will be allowed to register for Fall 2009. Auditors who will owe less than $200.00 must pay full fees by August 24, 2009. After paying full auditor's fees that are less than $200.00, contact the Cashiers or Accounts Receivable Office to have the minimum payment hold removed. If you make your minimum payment on PAWS by webCheck or credit card, your balance may be $0.00. Simply type in the amount you want to pay and complete the transaction. The minimum payment hold will be removed within two business hours. | ||||||||
