PAWS to verify the amount due, date due, and make a payment.

Due Date

All Spring 2008 tuition and fees are due in full on January 11, 2008.  All earlier amounts due plus Spring 2008 fees must be paid and credited to your student account no later than January 11, 2008.

If you pay all financial obligations with a due date prior to January 11, 2008  plus at least $200.00 against your Spring 2008 fees by January 11, 2008, you will be placed on the Installment Payment Plan and required to complete the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee Credit Agreement and the Wisconsin Marital Property Act Credit Application Form.

Any account that has not been paid in full by the 3rd Installment Payment Plan due date will have a Bursar hold placed on the account. This hold restricts initial enrollment, transcripts, and other services around campus.

Installment Plan Due Dates

1st Installment is due.

January 11, 2008: A minimum of $200.00 plus all past due amounts to avoid cancellation of registration for non-payment and activate the Installment Payment Plan.

2nd Installment is due.

February 7, 2008: Pay at least 50% of the tuition/fee balance.

The 2nd & 3rd installment due date will not show on PAWS under due charges. In PAWS, navigate to Main Menu>Self Service>Campus Finances> Spring 2008 and pay 50% of the term balance.

3rd Installment is due.

March 6, 2008: The remaining account balance for the term is due.

For additional ways to pay your due charges, view Payment Methods.

Minimum Payment Required Hold

Students not registered for Spring 2008 by December 28, 2007 and do not have a processed qualified exemption of Cancellation of Registration will have a Minimum Payment Required Hold placed on their account.

This hold requires that all financial obligations with a due date prior to January 11th plus a minimum of $200.00 be paid to your student account before you will be allowed to register for Spring 2008.

Auditors with a balance less than $200.00 must pay full fees by January 11, 2008. After paying full auditors fees that are less than $200.00, contact the Cashiers or Account Receivable Offices to have the minimum payment hold removed.

When paying your minimum payment by webCheck or Credit Card the PAWS screens may show $0.00 due. Simply type in the amount that you want to pay and complete the transaction.

The hold will be removed within 2 hours after your PAWS account shows a $200.00 credit balance.

Cancellation of Registration for Non-Payment

Cancellation of Registration for Non-Payment is to be taken very seriously.

Should a cancellation occur, the student will need to re-register and there is no guarantee that the same classes will be available.

A Late Registration Fee of $50.00 will be assessed upon registration after cancellation.

E-Mail Warning (At Risk for Cancellation of Registration)

Approximately ten days before the January 11, 2008 due date, all registered students who have not met the minimum payment requirement or have an exemption from cancellation of registration will receive a warning e-mail. This warning e-mail will be sent to the student's PantherMail account. The e-mail will contain information as of a current date. This date will be stated in the e-mail.

PAWS reflects your most current information. View PAWS to see if your account now meets the requirements for exemption from cancellation. If not, immediately pay all financial obligations with a due date prior to January 11th plus a minimum of $200.00 to avoid cancellation of registration.

Notification of Cancellation of Registration

Should your registration be cancelled, a Bursar Cancellation for Non-Payment HOLD will be placed on your account.

Students will receive correspondence from the Bursars Office that their registration has been cancelled for non-payment.

What to Do After Cancellation of Registration

You must pay all financial obligations with a due date prior to January 11, 2008 plus a minimum of $200.00 toward Spring  2008 fees for the hold to be lifted.

Payments or exemptions received after cancellation do not automatically register you in your original schedule of classes. You will need to register for classes. There is no guarantee that you will be able to get in the same classes that you had before cancellation.

A $50.00 Late Registration Fee will be assessed to your account. This fee will appear on your account after registration.

After registering, all tuition and fees with a due date of January 11, 2008 are immediately due. If you are unable to pay in full, you will be placed on the Installment Payment Plan and required to complete the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Credit Agreement and the Wisconsin Marital Property Act Credit Application Form.

Exemptions from Cancellation of Registration
for Non-Payment

The $200.00 minimum payment is not required by January 11, 2008 from students who have a qualifying exemption from cancellation.

Qualifying exemptions are:

1.      Have accepted a Spring 2008 Financial Aid Award of at least $200.00 by January, 2008. The award must be visible on PAWS.

2.      Have accepted at least a 33% Graduate Appointment as a Teaching, Project or Research Assistant and enrolled in the minimum credit requirement of your current status in order for the fee remission to be visible on your PAWS account. (If you are unable to register because of a minimum payment required hold, contact your appointing department.)

3.      Have registered for Fall 2007 classes and submitted a Payroll Deduction Authorization of at least $200.00 to the Accounts Receivable Office by Spring, 2008.

4.      Have a 3rd Party Agreement authorizing payment of at least $200.00 submitted to the Accounts Receivable Office by January 11, 2008.

5.      Have WI Veterans, Athletic, Music Clinic, Medical College or Marquette remission of at least $200.00 visible on your PAWS account.

Not all remissions qualify for exemption from cancellation. If your remission is not listed, then decide if you have an actual qualifying exemption or pay all financial obligations with a due date prior to January 11th plus at least $200.00 by January 11, 2008.

If you receive one of the exemptions after cancellation of registration for non-payment, contact the Accounts Receivable or Cashiers Office should your hold not automatically be removed within one business day.
